Thiruthani Murugan Temple is one of the Arupadai Veedu and is located in Tamil Nadu. The temple is situated at about 700 feet above sea level, making it a small hill shrine. Thiruthani, also known as Shantipuri, is believed to be the place where Lord Muruga attained peace after defeating the evil asuras. Devotees who worship here are said to attain peace and fulfillment of their wishes.
It is also believed that Lord Muruga married Valli at Vallimalai and later came to this hill. Those who worship Thiruthani Muruga for five consecutive days are said to be blessed with prosperity and happiness.

Southern Railway operates frequent passenger and express trains connecting Thiruthani with Chennai and other major cities. Electric local trains are also available. The first local train from Chennai Central starts at 4:00 AM and the last train departs at 8:15 PM.
