Sabarimala Travel Options
Devotees can travel by plane, taxi, bus, train, and car.
By Flight
Pilgrims can reach Trivandrum or Kochi by air and from there travel by car or rail to Pampa.
- Fly from Chennai to Kochi (Cochin International Airport) or Trivandrum (TRV).
- Kochi to Pamba/Sannidhanam: 140–160 km by road (4–5 hours to Pamba).
- Trivandrum is comparatively longer by road but offers more flight options.
By Train
Pilgrims can travel to Kottayam or Chengannur by train and then continue by road to Pampa. There is no direct train route to Sabarimala, but several nearby stations provide access.
- The closest railway stations: Kottayam, Thiruvalla, and Chengannur (~90 km from Sabarimala).
- For pilgrims from Mangalapuram, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi, Kottayam is the most convenient station.
- Trains ending at Ernakulam require a transfer to Kottayam (~1.5 hours).

Some trains via Alappuzha skip Kottayam; pilgrims may:
- Get off at Alappuzha and continue by road via Changanassery and Erumeli, or
- Get off at Kayamkulam and travel by road via Adoor.
- From Thiruvananthapuram, best stations to alight: Thiruvalla or Chengannur (~90 km by road).
By Road
- Bus services are available to Coimbatore, Palani, and Tenkasi from Pampa.

Travel time: ~15 hours 40 minutes, depending on bus type, stops, and traffic. - Premium buses (Volvo/AC sleeper) may be faster, especially at night.
